Is it..? Then please go and watch Kuruvi as soon as possible – Of course Happiness and Sorrow are two wheels of life na. Just go and feel it. When something is wrong somewhere then it is adjustable, wat do we say when everything is wrong everywhere..? Dont think too much guys, just name it as kuruvi. It is said that during summer, especially when the temperature is so high and when the sun scorches like anything, then the minds of people gets disturbed a lots which makes them to do when they shouldn't. I did not believe these details until i found it myself seated in the theatre for the very first show of kuruvi. First day, first show, that too for much awaited Dharani movie. Oh God, I cant even imagine how I felt when I came out of the theatre with my dreams shattered. Udayanithi stalin's debut as a producer is on a weak effort. As soon as the movie started, everyone in the theatre started looking around, with faces puzzled enough, and heavy confusion was moving around and it didn’t take much time to know that we’ve been cheated. No one knows what’s happening in the screen and i guess even the director also doesn’t know that. At that moment, I clearly understood that the scorching sun has driven these people mad enough and even it tries to do the same with us the viewers. I took the chance, understood the plot and turned away from the screen in the next minute. Then i was praising the inventor of the cell phone games, who proved to be the God at that moment.
Dharani, coming back to the field nearly after 4 years should have stunned us with something more powerful than "gilli". But he has done that undoubtedly in the other way. It’s really a stunning performance. Of course, everything doesn’t go great for everyone right. Dharani is also not an exception. Logical mistakes are acceptable for commercial movies, but kuruvi has just exceeded the limits. Better he could have tried a super-hero subject. The next question is wat happened to vidhyasagar..? But everyone says tat, its no use of blaming a music director when the director is in a clear form towards the other side. So lets praise dharani again for those wonderful headaches (Songs). But we could lessen our anger for that "Thaen thaen", which is just quite ok comparatively. The lyricists were unfaithful for they have been paid for. But we should thank the music director for his background score, which doesn’t torture us that much as the screenplay does. Poor editing and bad lighting are two great pillars behind kuruvi’s flop. Editing was so bad especially in the song sequences and the cameraman didn’t do any good work, as he even failed to show the coolness of Malaysia at least as good as it was shown in Billa. Some tourist people might lose their interest in going there after seeing this movie.

Actor vijay has done his job clearly as what dharani is expected him to do. And Thrisha proves again as a best time-pass actress who just runs all around the movie along with vijay astonishingly both of them doesn’t know, where they are running which ultimately causes our eyes to pain. Vivek's comedy is dry enough just adding more fuel for the summer's heat. Suman, Ashish vidhyarthi and manivannan have failed to justify their roles, which got lost in the heavy logical mistakes of the plot. At last when the movie ended, unknowingly i started praising perarasu, who seemed to be a better commercial moviemaker at that point. The lesson that I’ve learned in the end is never judge a director even though he has given successful hits in his past. Just wait for a review and then watch the movie. Or else, get into the theatre with an Anacin..!

A Perfect XEROX - Again..!

Director Raja, should be given a national award as the best remake movie maker but unfortunately they dont give away awards to that category. But if someone from the board is reading this post, then please consider this suggestion of mine. I think he never watches any tamil movie channels at his house, instead he should be hanging around Gemini, Teja, Maa or so and so. It would be better if he looks at Surya, Asianet and Udaya too. For even those language movies are providing good opportunities for nice remake movies suited for tamil film industry these days. Hey guys, please dont think that i am cursing him. Just understand that it's a different way of encouraging people like Raja.
Talking about the movie, it has such a wonderful story. A great message in the end makes the movie in a must to watch list. The strength is that it has taken the subject that is so common in most of the families. It shows the beauty of relationship between a father and his son. It teaches what a father needs to learn and also what a son needs to understand. Atlast there is something for everyone of us to learn from this movie. Next the character depiction, which is more perfect and exact for the credits goes to the original screenplay writer, who has worked a lot while even the character of kausalya who appears with the phone all the time is meanigful. Then the screenplay is smooth enough to convey the deep message of the story. It has the perfect insertion of Jenilia's character with a sweet love around, making the viewer to smile about it. Devisri prasad has done a perfect work, while the song lyrics translators should be praised for their excellency in the world collection, to fill out the gaps in the music, and also fitting the scene and the story too. Simply it is marvellous.
Jayam Ravi has done a cool job and it seems that he is improving a lots these days, especially he has done a perfect work in the climax. And the camera work is colourful and ofcourse the cameraman wouldnt have faced any difficulties in reproducing the same angles that were shown in the original version. And even the editor wouldnt have faced any problem. Better Raja could have called me to do the editing and hope he will do the next time when he does a remake movie. Its so simple u know - Just CTRL+C and CTRL+V. Background score was moving at some areas, especially in the climax. The comedy track perfectly gets along with the story and finds our laughter comfortably. Raja should have avoided those scenes like that tea shop and pani puri shop, or atleast he should have shown his creativity in these areas instead of showing the same from the original one as these weren't normal to tamil movie culture. Jenelia was nice in doing the same thing as it was and as it should be. And Prakashraj has done his usual work untiringly. To sum up the movie was a perfect colour xerox. Eventhough the xerox machine has worked again perfectly but enough is enough and its time for Raja to think something new. Wat about hollywood movies..? I will buy some good DVDs and will send them to him soon. Anyone intererested in helping him out with some French, Iranian or some chinese DVDs..? But the fact is, when it comes to a remake movie Raja is the only undefeated king so far. And also lets praise him for providing us the movies, that a whole family could sit and watch comfortably. Kudos to him..!

The Most Meaningful Strike

“Onpathu Rubai Nottu” – the movie as peculiar as its name, is an excellent masterpiece of Thangar Bachaan, which would undoubtedly, scribble his name in the milestones of tamil cinema. The story circles around the hero Madhava Padaiyaatchi, his happiness, his hardships, his relationships and everything about him. If u were used to or experienced to the life of a typical Tamil village, then u would have been familiar with the characters in the movie. A set of wonderful characters holds the movie in its main stream.

The director has worked harder in each and every frame of the movie, which is clearly visible. He has shown his directorial touch with every scene that makes us to feel healthy. Thangar has worked harder to bring out the best from the characters. But all the kudos should be given to Satyaraj, Archana, Nasaar and Rohini for their splendid performances. Only these senior players have saved the game without doing the overacting, which is quite common in Thangar’s movies.

Thangar should be specially praised for his camera, which captures every interesting moments of a village except some of the close-up shots of the seniors, which fills the screen and scares us sometimes.

He captures the environment in a quite different way, but we expect lots more from his angles. The background score by Bharatwaj is moving. The songs are livelier than ever. Without these songs, especially without these lyrics the movie would be an incomplete one. Vairamuthu has done his best that he could do for a movie of this kind. “Velaayee” and “Maargazhiyil kulichipaaru” are the best tracks of the era which speaks out the Vedanta of life. The Screenplay is excellent; maybe it would have been easier for him to do, as he owns the story as his novel. The character depiction and the dialogues perfectly fit the screen. Sometimes the audiences are found restless when Archana repeats her mourning for every scene in the second half.

The beautiful climax makes the movie worthy; especially Thangar touches our heart with those few dialogue exchanges that appear after the climax scene. There lies the message; there lies the theme and it is where the whole viewers stands disturbed and it is where Thangar stands with his success. At last the movie takes its own position in tamil cinema’s “Must to Watch” list. Thangarbachan strikes harder than ever..!

Two in one, but in vain..!

Rameshwaram is a complete love story of a Refugee, who loses everything in his life at the other end of the sea, and gains the love of a girl in the standing end.
The director has tried his level best to mix-up a love story along with the tragic life of refugees. But it is quite hard thing u know, and it’s clear that he has failed in making it successfully. He should have been quite confused with his substance. He should have clearly shown us the demarcation or else he should have done two movies. But he leaves us in vain. Jeeva who plays the role of a refugee, is not that much clear in his role. May be the director is not clear. The movie tests our patience with its confusing screenplay. While Jeeva frequently changing the track makes us exhausted and sometimes puzzles us as he does that with no valuable reasons. Bhavana does, what she was asked to do.Bose venkat, may look unfit for the role in the beginning, but later he justifies himself. Lal has nothing special to do in this movie. He plays his usual character as he used to do in other movies.

The movie provides us its only salvation through its songs and cinematography. The cameraman has worked harder than any other. No one has ever shown Rameshwaram, in such a good mood so far. Especially the camera movements in the song sequences are excellent. I could suggest u to watch this movie, just for the cinematographer who has done his part greatly. Niru's background score is perfect. “Alaigalin Osai” and “Elloraiyum yethi” are memorable tracks. Especially their lyrics are good.
The editor has done a good job, especially during the song sequences and somewhere here and there. Manivannan, lays unnoticed in the end of the movie. The director should have used these characters well enough. Some of the serious dialogues in the movie have filled out the gap of the comedy track, which is explicitly missing in the script. Especially the audience could never stop laughing while Jeeva shouts in front of Lal in the climax. This is where the movie falls and here I have with no other words to explain more.

Now it’s the time for us to wish the director of Rameshwaram – Mr. Selvam, “Better luck next time”.

Chennai - 600 028 -- 0%Cinema 100%Entertainment

Before starting the game, let me give a standing ovation to Venkat Prabhu, the real Master Blaster behind the team SHARKS in the movie Chennai – 600028. Some of u may not know about this Sharks. Of course u need to watch the movie then. A band of heroes with their own way of lifestyle, excelling in their locality is the theme. They have their own world, own rules, own successes, own failures, own satisfaction and own thirstiness.

The positive thing here is that all that I have mentioned above are well known to us. Most of us would have lived or still living in those. The story was build over the center core of Gully cricket with sheathes of Love and Friendship binding them.

Venkat Prabhu has come out with a subject that bowls out the cinematic things like Makeup, Location, Dialogues, Sentiments, etc. The movie grounds over naturalism. It was shot in the exact location, with the exact people, spilling out exact dialogues as natural as it need to be.
The entertaining thing is that the viewer breaks into laughter at every section of the movie.
In cine field, most of them are failing to reach the audience with their artificial flavour. Venkat has proved, that capturing reality could completely satisfy a viewer. Budding directors needs to make a note of it.

Even though the movie was completely entertaining it was totally the Men’s stuff. Yuvan has come up with beautiful songs suiting the situations. Background score was excellent, especially during the match scenes. All the actors have done their part naturally and perfectly and the output of their teamwork is simply amazing.

To sum up, the whole team has lived a life forgetting that it was captured in a camera. So folks, go to the theatre, get into ur streets and enjoy. Vinay has done a brilliant job depicting a guy whom we see everywhere all around the day. 50% of the movie is worth watching just for its richness and its youthfulness. The camera speaks up most of the time. Songs, which are already topping the charts, have done their justice as far as they could to make ur money valuable. Sada, for the first time had done the best character role in her career. Even though Tanisha seems artificial most of the times she has justified her role in the beautiful climax. All the technicians excelled in their part. Debutant S. Ramakrishnan stands high enough for his dialogues. Especially his excellence is proved when his lines carry the whole of the climax.

Jeeva needs to be applauded for his centric screenplay, which throws apart logical reasoning and just relies on its theme. He didn’t care how the viewers are going to evaluate the scenes that have hell of logical mistakes; instead he aimed only on the jest from the beginning, and that paid him well enough. He has well learnt the trick of raising the expectations towards the climax and fulfilling it completely. However he fails to entertain us with a new subject except with his climax.

At last the movie undoubtedly teaches us a known dimension of Love, but in a different way. He would have got the line from a Daily newspaper and mixing with his own way of cinema, gave it to us as it is. Gautam Menon has made his work more splendidly. The amazing part is the way of knitting a story like this with commercial threads, ultimately proves his excellence. After his costly action movies like Kakka Kakka and Vettaiyadu vilayadu he stands now with a completely different one, by which he proves himself in another track.

The story is around a middleclass Venkatesh and his sweet family. Venki falls into a trap due to situations and circumstances and loses track, which leads to the greatest twists in the story line. Atlast the story pulls the audience restlessly and ends with a relief of their lively senses.
Sarath Kumar glitters as Venkatesh. Undoubtedly he is the one whom we meet in our office, on the way home in buses or in trains. His family is none other than our neighbourhood, so sweeet enough and holding hard concepts that are indigestible. As soon as u see that Venki is betrayed, ur heart rushes as if its none other than u. There lies the success of that character. Andrea fitted as Kalyani as exactly as she could. She looks so great in her character and plays the tune in an enjoyable manner. Jyothika proved herself to be courageous enough to do that role. Milind Soman, worked more casually and attractively. He creates a clear Villainism in his own way.

Arivnd Krishna holded his camera for a nice piece. The Camera acted statically as it need to be for these kind of movies. Dialogues are genuine and answering. With 4 blasting songs Harris Jayaraj cries aloud that he is not the one to be forgotten. The background score is better comparing to VV. Once again success stands for Gautam-Harris combination.

Gautam seemed to be losing his grip in somesense for repeating things at VV, but now he proved that it is his own way of holding more firmer. And the curtain drops, He looks at most of us with his title and, its meaning with the movie. I think that this is the first one of him with an inline message and a theme in the title itself.

To say simply, adding a glossy cinema into ur neighbour’s life is PKMC – but it has got lots, for us to feel and learn.

BABEL - See what ur language does...!

How many of u are proud of ur language..?How many of u love it than any..? How many of u want it to be always greater than the other..? I am damn sure that some of u like me wouldn’t continue with that after watching this movie.

Babel – the name suits the film exactly as it need to be. Do u know the Biblical story of The Tower of Babel..? Here are some lines of it. After some thousand years when God created this world and living beings in it, it came to a time when they were lakhs of people living together speaking a single language that God taught them. They lived harmoniously. One day they all planned to built a tower to reach the heaven from the earth. They started building it too. As there was a large population they built the tower faster and faster. God got annoyed with them. He created confusion among them. By means, some people started to talk in one language, while some in the other. And a great confusion broke and the tower was left half built. Then people of same language gathered together and started to move to the different faces of the earth. It is also said that this is the incident when different languages came to existence.Language is the most important means of communication but why there’s need to be different…? What happens when somebody not understands urs when u want it to be..? This film puts this question as a movie. U could find only certain dialogues dispersed here and there.. most of the time the scenes speaks for itself. When u happen to see things as shown in this movie which results due to the miscommunication it creates a small niche of hatred towards the language. The film also talks about the people who have started to fail in listening. He points out that it is the only solution for all the mishaps that happen due to miscommunication. I feel that this is a great theme that filmmakers have ever thought about, and the Director should be given a real praise for that. Simply, this movie is the not the one to be listened or not the one to be read, it is to watch and feel in ur heart.
In the point of a movie the direction was perfect. Alejandro poured his excellence in each and every scene, linking the events, putting altogether and finally displaying the jest. Other technicians are at their best with the came in its prime. The background score speaks out for its situations. Brad Pitt is in a different makeup, and the Moroccan brothers have done a great job. The Japanese disco and the Mexican village party were the extremes to sit and enjoy. The screenplay was amazing and totally Babel is an excellent cinema.
The movie says that miscommunication is the main source of most of the problems in and around. And chiefly this miscommunication arises due to the distinction among the languages and also the human behavior of failing to listen to others. God who was happy creating confusion among the babel tower builders with different languages, would have worried at least once for this very mistake which has become a chief source of dispute among the mankind.

As the movie concludes “ If u want to be understood – Listen.”, the whole world needs to learn that listening is the only way to complete the half built Babel Tower.

Veyyil - My first victim for a movie review

Do u know where does the life starts..? The director of the movie throws this simple question to his viewers for which most of us could never find the answer. I just started to think over this and came out with an answer, only at the end of the movie. Let me say about that at the end too.

It was an usual day made unusual for me just by a 3 hr movie. Feeling bored in the office and booking an e-ticket i was the lone viewer from my side sitting at Satyam cinemas. One among the greatest part of our life is watching a movie like veyyil alone with good environment like this. The Theatre was full and the movie started.

As soon the movie started, a fight scene begun. Pasupathi came out in a lightining stunt show and the flashback followed. Then the camera moves into an complete village and the movie recalls the childhood days of the viewers. A small family of two brothers, with a story of a failed man finds the way onto the screen. The journey of this family into years with fast running life makes the viewers to burst out. Everyone would have sat well enough just before the last minute of the climax. A minute later everyone would feel heavy. There the director stands tall enough questioning everyone "When does the sorrow gets into our life...?" -- Everytime when we undergo a misunderstanding.

This is the second movie for Director vasanthabalan ( first one is Album). Astonishing... Certain directors put there complete effort in the first movie and on and on they lose the track. Some have a bad start and get mouled on and on. Vasanthabalan falls into the latter category. The storyline was simple and clean, but the way it is carried out in the screenplay is excellent. The viewers could never leave the track or could never miss a scene, or could never complain or could never get tired. The director keeps everyone keen while the camera cries out loud. Music director G.V Prakash, 18-year-old nephew of A.R. Rahman has done a commendable job. He

knows the intensity of oscillations for each and every scene and succeeded in pulling out the tears in the viewers eyes. Technicians had played their role high enough to portray the script as the exact as the director thought. Actors ofcourse, were digged enough. Pasupathi and Bharath have done all their best to get fixed into the viewers. When the whole team does well then the output is fruitful and this is nodoubt in the case of Veyyil.

As the movie ended, i was sitting deadly at my seat, fearing that there should not be any Murugesan in this world. But no longer that my wish got spoiled with an interview with the director, the very next day in Vijay TV. He said in tears, "I am the Murugesan who is not dead yet"

The answer what i thought for the question given in the beginning was -

For a human, Life begins when he knows why he need to die...!

Hide and Seek - A house hunt in Chennai

Readers please wait... i was attending a call with my house broker, let me continue with u all after that... ok

Me : "hello Broker sir, r u there..?"
Broker : "Ya, tell me raghavendran"
Me : "What happened to the house that u told me..?"
Broker: "Which house..?"
Me :"The one at ashok nagar...?"
Broker :"Ok. done.."
Me : "when shall i meet the owner.."
Broker :"It may take time.. will tell u afterwards..."
Me:"When is that..?"
.
.
Line ended..
so lets start the story...
How many of u have the experienced finding a house to stay through a house broker in chennai. Better let me ask u.. how many of u have played the game of Hide and Seek.
Both are same if u would have experienced them....

I came here to settle in chennai as this is my place of posting, so i am in search of a rented house to stay in... for searching that, i opted for a house broker and leted him to do the job. He asked me to pay Rs.200 for just showing the houses... but we are not guarenteed that he will surely find us a house... Next morning he took us to a area of T.nagar and showed us a house which was locked. He told that the house owner is some where out of the city. If we are ok with the house then we could meet the house owner. We liked the house and we said ok. He told us to come to his office tommorrow and there we can meet the house owner and we can continue the further settlings. So we were glad and we returned to his office exactly on the time he told us to be there in the office...

Suddenly he told us that the house was fixed to someone else and so he asked us to forget the matter and he promised us that he will find some other better house. After three days he suddenly called us and told that there was another house at Panagal Park and that could suit us. So we went there and this time the house was completely new and its construction was yet to be completed. He told us that this house will be completed in a week and then we could stay there hereafter. We were happy, as the house was completely good and we asked him not to leave the house and also we are not ready to accept a situation like that happened before . He told us the same thing as to be in the office in the next evening for the similar reason(to meet the house owner and to pay the advance). So we came in time, but this time the broker told us the house owner is not interested to give us the house for he needs only a family to stay in that house. So we left this one too ...

Three days before the broker called us once again and told us that another house is ready in the Ashok Nagar and this time he told us that everything will be alright. In the gap we heard a fact that many of the brokers in chennai used to get a introduction fees of Rs. 200 from the customers and they will show a locked house or a new house that is at the end of the construction, which in fact the broker will be having a no way contact with that house or with that house owner at all. In most of the cases the house was not meant for renting purpose at all. He would be just blabbering or playing a hide and seek game with that of the customer. A i think this should not be in our case and we still believe with our broker(who seems to be changing into the one as we think).
Oh.. my cellphone rings....
Ah.. its the broker... quite it may be regarding the house...
See u all afterwards...
